Growing up, I hardly saw anyone older than me *enjoying* life and their job. It was always “you could do this.. it earns a good living" and what they meant by “earns a good living” was it paid the bills. I took that saying and analyzed it for myself and wondered what a “good living” looked like in my eyes and through watching others as I grew up and deciphered what a good living actually was to me.
I didn’t want to follow the “norm” of going to work just to pay the bills.
I didn’t want to WORK to LIVE. I wanted to LIVE to WORK.
It is 1,000 times easier for me to wake up knowing I get to go to a photo shoot, edit, or paint. You know… my passions!
The “snooze” button doesn’t get hit on days when I am working for me.
Anyone who has lived in the same house as me for more than one day, knows how committed I am to that snooze button when I’m not working for myself. (lets just say I had 9+ alarms set every 10 minutes, and the snooze goes off every 9 minutes… x 9+ alarms every 10 minutes… yeah.. I’m *that* person.)
It’s funny how when you’re living to work, your effort is greater, your enjoyment is higher and your stress is less.
Keep that in mind as you go to work today, tomorrow and the coming years. Do you truly LOVE what you do? If you don’t - what’s keeping you there? Determination to live *your* great life does wonders for your health and happiness!
What’s stopping you?
Thanks for stopping by!
